if there is indeed an expert on Ford VIN#'s on this board I'd sure like to ask for their help!!!
it has to do with the SVT registry of course: www.SVTregistry.com
I started the 2003 Cobra registry a year early, so that I don't have the same disaster as happened with the 2002 Lightnings, and well so far it seems Ford is changing the VIN#'s on me... its hard for me to keep track and I'm worried that my Registry is inacurate...so if someone could shed some light on it that would be great....
anyway, here's my problem... the original 2003 cobras started with VIN#'s ending in (last 8 digits) Y3XXXXXX and a few months into production the numbers suddenly jumped to Y32XXXXX than onto Y34XXXXX and so on.... today I got a new entry thats F30XXXXX.... what is going on??? I always thought that maybe Ford snuck in some Mustang V6 and GT productions among the Cobra run, but the "F" in today's entry totaly threw me off... I'd hate to have two cars on the registry with the same ending digits of the VIN#'s... you know?
so there, can anyone help?
Also, the 2003 Lightning owners are more than welcome to Join the registry!!! If someone explains to me how the VIN# system works on those trucks I'll set the page up tonight, and wait for all ya'll entries!
