Leather Softner?

The seats on my 2001 King Ranch Supercrew are starting to look pretty bad. Specially the driver side. I bought some of the Armour-ALL leather softner and applied and looks GREAT for about a day.

What do you fellow King Ranch owners use to keep the seats looking NEW???

use the stuff that came with the truck and when you run out of that run down to the saddle shop or boot shop and get some saddle conditioner. stay away from anything that has neetsfoot oil in it and throw away everything that says armorall on it and you'll be fine.

Okay, you all are waiting on something from me and I shant disappoint. First, I'm going to be brief...

Don't get just any 'joe blow' leather conditioner. Get something good. You honestly get what you pay for.

Lexol and Fiebings 4-way are, by far and away, the favorites here.

I recommend doing what Mike mentioned and going from there... you'll find that the 'leather conditioner' subject has been pounded, repeatedly, into the ground.

For reference, here is the link to the leather care thread, where a number of us determined the pros/cons of each conditioner.

It's easier than writing everything again.

Just to throw my hat in about the Armorall, I have a bottle and it just sits there. I should throw it out but I keep thinking that I might use it on something vynil. Anyway, I've been told that the silicon base in Armorall will dry out true leather especially over time. Your typical coated leather that you see in most Ford vehicles will hold up to it better but keep it away from the King Ranch. As far as what Conditioner you should use, read through the other threads and make your own decision.

RP.....

I wasn't waiting on anything from you !!!
:D

PS. Guess what I went to test drive today (Only 17 guesses allowed)

pkagel 12-11-2002 01:47 PM

let me chance two guesses, an aston martin db9 or maybe a new vw bugatti w-16 powered monster!!!

Lenticular 12-11-2002 02:07 PM

And there was me thinking they had only got as far as the DB7.
I guess being Ford owned, the US is in advance of us lot....though wait a minute, they ARE built here !

no, they make the db9, i have one of those heavily disguised photos of it right here and have seen one on the road but can't find a pic of it online right now.

http://www.ecomcars.co.uk/newcarsecr...ton/aston.html ok, next guess a vw bentley, ok, maybe they haven't come out with the new model of it yet but it is good to see them getting back to their former racing glory instead of the stodgy semi rolls royce they have been making for the last 40 years. i can't wait to see if they run one at the 24hrs of le mans.

pkagel 12-13-2002 02:45 PM

well, what kind of car was it?????

Lenticular 12-13-2002 04:22 PM

The first of the new breed of RR are coming off the line right now at the brand new factory near the historic Goodwood racing circuit on the south coast of England.
Well...it ain't one of those.
The new small Bentley won't be available for a year or so.....

In fact I have always hankered after the true gentleman's (No wise remarks!) sporting carriage...the Aston Martin.
Failing the funds to quite manage a Vanquish I've managed the next best thing...the Vantage Volante.
Vantage indicates it has the V12 (the only engine Aston now produces), and Volante for drophead.
Most of the body panels are still hand beaten and the engines are individually built and signed by the person who built it.
Should be here early in the New Year !

Oi !
Don't call my Bentley a stodgy semi Rolls Royce.
She can pick up her skirts and go when required.
I just don't like excessive speed shaking off the ash from my Davidoff onto my Gieves and Hawkes strides.

Interior and rear photo of the AM.

(Bet you can't spot the deliberate mistake !!)

that is one nice AM the only mistake i can see it the automatic tranny in such a nice sports car. no offense on the bentley comment, if i had to choose between the old rolls and the bentley then it would be the latter as they look much better imho and i never doubted the power of either, as i know they both have plenty of power to spare. do you plan on changing those wheels as it would seem, at least in the pics, that it would look nicer with chrome wire wheels and knock offs.
