Another Leather Question
There are those who will shudder to think of what I did today to treat my leather--but here goes: I USED ARMOR ALL LEATHER CARE ON MY KING RANCH LEATHER SEATS TODAY!! I decided not to used the Meguiars stuff that I used the last time, and Kmart is the only choice in town, and that's all the had. I have to say, they have never looked better. Much richer feel than using the Meguiars or the Ford/KR stuff. Easier to apply, and much cheaper also.
I know, I'm going to cause some nightmares!!

Bronc, haven't tried those. Might be a good product to keep in the console for little emergencies etc... Sounds like you had very good luck with them... keep us posted.

On the other subject of 'not eating hot meals'. I'm just going to try to go easy because I have a feeling I'm going to fly off the handle.
Let me say this. I'm passionate about this truck. We all are. God, just read these boards. We're basically pathetic!
I try not to belittle anyone's opinion on anything because, it's just that; an opinion. We all poke fun at eachother and, luckily, we 9.9 times out of 10, take it in stride but Lent's comment about me 'not eating enough hot meals' or whatever it was wasn't well received; it was the 0.1 that wasn't in stride. It pushed me slightly over the edge. It rubbed me the wrong way.
Was it a fair comment said in a comical tone? I just can't convince myself that it was...
No, I'll probably never get to deal with any leather on this scale again nor have I ever dealt with it prior. It's special stuff. We all know that. We wouldn't have this thread without it...
Voice your opinion and be heard. Hell, I don't care if you poke some fun while you're at it. Just don't throw me off as some young punk who doesn't know a thing in the world about taking care of his truck's very unique leather. I've worked very hard to have what I have (as have most) and I take care of what I have (as do most). I consider myself blessed to have what I have and am very fortunate. I've simply tossed out opinions about the things I have and take care of.... Please don't belittle me for a strong opinion in this arena.

Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear.
You know aside from the fact that we are all "Very Nice" to each other on this forum, and I think a little "edge" doesn't hurt sometimes, I did think the humor had developed beyond the basic !
It is a well known fact that "Irony" or "Dry" humour is in short supply on one side of the Atlantic.
It all has to be very much up front to be understood....except it must be said Frasier and one or two others are noticeable exceptions.
The comments were tongue in cheek and from a gradual development of posts and comments over the last 6 months or so, I felt that those comments would stimulate some friendly banter.
Guess I should have known better from a recent attempt to relay a series of jokes from a popular radio show.....
It ends every week with the introductions to the weeks's grand Ball.
By introducing the guests by forename and last name the combination forms the element of humor.
For instance.....
"And now introducing Mr and Mrs Talia, and their daughter, Jenny"
Do you know I had to relate that about 5 times, then explain it, and I still don't think they got it....and yes, they do appreciate rude jokes!

It just struck me wrong. This side of the Atlantic has ample humor available when it's put forth to take and enjoy.
I'm going to end it with that and 'finish in stride'.
*sings* I WILL SURVIVE... OHHH AS LONG AS I KNOW HOW TO LOVE... umm...
Sorry.

Do not fret Bronc, I use the pop-up armoral leather care for in-between conditioning (like when I am waiting for a train or a bridge)......I have it in the back console along w/ the window wipes, original armoral wipes and of course the ever handy pop-up butt wipes. you can never be prepared enough for an emergency.
great thanks lenny now I am gonna have that song in my head all day.......

Oh geesh... this went from me being half way ticked off to crying laughing at my desk at work. The guy in the office next to me probably thinks I've absolutely lost it....
Geesh.

OK Rockpick......
I'll put my hand up......I knew I was winding you up a little, but I didn't think you'd take the bait !!!
Truce ?
(My wife was a school principal at one particular school for over 10 years and I used to call to pick her up every night....
Many years later my wife had the comment back....
Y'know...we never did know what to make of your husband...was he serious about some of the things he said ?
British humor is known to be dry...mine is totally arid.
But .... Great...I thought....keep 'em guessing! )

Yeah Lent. I took the bait (hook, line, sinker, rod, reel, and boat). Truce.
Well, since we're scattered all over the world, I guess we can just sing a verse or two of Kum Ba Ya.

I condition until the leather won't 'take' anymore. I was told this was the correct method. In short, I go through quite a bit on a typical conditioning.
I used almost the entire bottle of the F150 stuff the first time I conditioned. I had about an ounce left.

I used about 2/3 bottle to condition the first and only time. I haven't done it in several months and not what you're thinking Rock.
Hey Rock,
Are you positive you didn't take a few courses of Law while in college? You are starting to sound like an attorney with all that legal crap you're putting in the fine print at the bottom of some posts
