2003 KR info Please

New the the fourm, Hi. Anyway I am looking at a 2003 King ranch. This thruck looks good with no dents and the interior is clean but From my reasearch the guy is selling for really cheap. Im almost stealing it from him. It has a little over 50,000 miles and was driven here in minnesota in the snow. Now the only bad part is that this truck will need new tires. the side walls are cracked a little and the tread look about 30-40% left. now the shocker is the guy only wants 5800 for the truck. what do you guys think.

Well it does seem like a very low price, maybe he is just trying to get rid of it fast. What i would do is take it to a mechanic that you know and get him to check over every square inch on the truck. If everything looks ok then i would start asking him about the title situation. Im thinking it may have a salvage title or something. How do the seats look? You can probaly tell by the seats if he has taken care of the rest of the truck.

No I haven't seen it in person. Guy wasn't to smart and he put it on CL 3 days before he went to hawaii. I thought it was a scam at first cause he sent me some pictures that I couldn't open and when I said that he uploaded the pictures seprataly. he also sent me the car fax that said he is the second owner and there has had nothing but regular servise. I have used CL to buy snowmobiles and know the scams so I ask the questions like " where are you located and Can we see it in person". and that stuff. I was kinda thinking I would offer 5,500 since it needs new tires. Have any hints and tips for me, He did drive it in the winter (here in minnesota) and I will too. I was just looking for good deals on any kind of ford and this is cheaper than 2000 XLT trucks.

Well it sounds like it is legit. I would try to get the truck asap, for that price it isnt going to stick around. Hell you could even buy it and resale it for a good chunk of change. I bought my 03 two years ago from the ford house for $12,500 with 77000 miles. I wouldnt try to lowball him to much but hey it is worth a good shot. A good set of new tires(mine are 275/60/17's) are going to run you about 6-800 bucks.
