RockPick's Rubber Mats
Brad, I noticed in your gallery that you have beige rubber floor mats. Did your '01 come with KR carpet mats? I'm really considering using rubber for the winter. The salt & grime is really beating up my KR mats. My buddy has a 1pc black rubber mat in his f250. It looks too much like a work truck to me. However, the beige looks pretty good. Where'd you pick your's up at?
By the way, being a geologist, are you dying to get a piece of mars so you can Pick away at it? Damn rovers get all the good jobs. Thanks, Ron |
I answered my own question. I found cool mats here.http://www.automotiveinteriors.com
Thanks anyway, Ron |
Nope... I'm not much of a 'planetary geologist' but, one of the head geologists on the Mars project graduated a few years prior to me from the same school. Pretty impressive guy to say the least... I'll stick with contaminated groundwater and soils. ;)
On the floormats, your link is dead but, I can tell you this. There are a couple of types of floormats out there that are very well liked among the F-Series community. One is made by Husky Liners and the other by Catch-All. The ones that you see in my pictures are Husky Liners. I bought them from Bass Pro Shops. I can't recall how much they were but, I know I've seen them on Ebay fairly reasonable. To date, they are one of the most simple, most effective mods that I have made. Yes, I recieved the carpeted mats but, I've kept them in plastic with only minimal useage. It seems silly to me to thrash my 'good' mats when I'm in and out of the truck all the time with muddy/wet feet. The Husky Liners have 'lips' on the 'down-gradient' edges to capture melted snow, rain, or mud and keep it on the mat rather than creeping onto your carpet for the interior. They're a SURE FIRE WIN! RP :D |
I corrected the problem with the link I had on my previous post. They carry some nice stuff. Check it out.

I love my husky liners, especially during this snow we are having in Iowa with 4 inches and all the slush with it. I do not have an carpet floor mats, but it is nice to keep the stock carpet on the floor looking good. I think I have only driven without the Huskys in there twice, once after I got the truck, and some other time when I forgot to put the mats back in after cleaning them.
