Welcome! And thank you for your service! I grew up in Windsor, NC not so far from Rich Square. One of my uncles lived there.

We moved here in 2016 and I go to Windsor a lot, partly because I work for the state, but at Christmas we do Hoggarts and every chance we get we go to Bunns

Yep, Bunn's barbecue has been there for ages. When I was growing up, they cooked a pig in a pit in the back using wood coals and it was the best barbecue there was. The health dept. won't allow that any more so they use an electric powered cooker now. I worked there on the weekends for a short time one summer when I was in school. I have relatives who live there and in Edenton.

Yea, we started looking for houses down here in 2015 trying to get out of Va beach, almost a year looking east of 17 in EC or Hertford areas ( almost wound up in Indian Creek LOL ) after finding nothing we could afford cause out place in Va hadn't sold yet we went through Joe Murry Reality in Ahoskie Bennett White showed us one house in Rich Square and we were on the way back to Chowan county when he pulled into Bunns for lunch, I have NEVER had bbq that good ANYWHERE on the entire planet
Yes I've been to Parkers too

The man that owned and ran Bunn's Barbecue was named Bunn Weather, an unusual name. He was a hard working really nice rotund guy. His wife cooked the corn bread he sold with the barbecue at home and he would drive home often to get some fresh corn bread. He passed away within about a year after selling the business and retiring. Everybody liked Bunn as well as his barbecue.

Welcome to the site. We've been in Zebulon, NC since our relocation from the midwest in 2012. I am a bit partial to KC BBQ myself. NC style is good, but not my favorite.

I will do what I can. I may not be much help. I live outside of town and have only been in the area for a few years. I am actually closer to downtown Rolesville than Zebulon.

Thanks, I'd really like to know if my oldest son (Eisenstein) blow it on the way home of if the guy is a liar, cause this thing needs major work and he passed up on a 2002 Ranger with a 5 speed with nothing wrong with it for a full size that right now is a 3600 lb paperweight
