interior color

I am looking to upgrade interior on truck from cloth to leather... and I want to make sure that I match the colors appropriately...

98' F150 XLT black extended cab, 3 door
40/60 bench cloth interior

looks tan (but I'm not sure if it's medium tan, or prarie tan or some other tan).

Is there some place I can look to idenify the interior and exterior colors?

Does anyone know what colors were offered for interior on 98' that might help me solve my problem as well.

Thanks much
Dan

your manual might have it or if you have the price sticker it might say it on there as well

I too have a 98 XLT. To the best of my knowledge, only two interior colours were offered on the XLT.. grey and tan. So all of the dashes were grey or tan. The grey and tan shades for cloth were pretty close to the same shade in leather (although the cloth has a pattern in it)

I believe that the grey got darker in the 99 redesign/update. I dont know if the tan got darker as well.

I just received a tan leather interior out of a 2001 F-150 for my '97 and colors match perfectly.

I think they simply changed the name from Light Prairie Tan and Medium Prairie Tan to Parchment on the newer models.

The leather will still look great.

Did you pick up the 2001 interior from salvage yard? I bet that made a great addition to your truck.

It's good to know that the new interiors match up with the old... there are so many things I like about the 97/98 models, that aren't the same on the 2001,2002 (i.e. grill)

Thanks for the info

I got mine on eBay for $120.00 with shipping fees. It's actually for the extended cab and I have just the regular cab but I couldn't resist. There are always leather seat covers available on eBay but this was the first time I'd seen leather for the 40/60 split bench.

The color is exactly the same tone as the rubber cup holder portion of the center console so it does match.

So far I only have the driverside cover installed because it's too cold here in Minnesota to spend much time working on it and I may have to remove a seat to get everything installed properly. I don't think I'll ever go without leather again now. It makes the interior look much warmer and they are so, so soft:p
