Ash Tray won't stay closed
 

Does anyone know how to remove or fix an ash tray on a 04 FX4 with captain seats. I know this was already discussed previously however I have a different set up since I have captain seats and is not the same as a reg. cab

I had the same problem with mine. I ended up ordering a new ash tray from Ford and replaced it. You open the ash tray and pull on the radio bezel trim to remove the trim. The trim pulls off towards you. Then you will see the 2 screws that holds the ash tray in place.Once you remove the ash tray, you can tell whats wrong with it. If you can't open your ash tray, I would carefully pry it open. Hope this helps.

The pin that slides in it's track was barely meeting up and not working properly on mine. I don't plan on fixing mine as it will be my switch panel.
