01' F150 SuperCrew Lariat (Leather Captain's Chairs)
Just took delivery of my truck a couple of days ago. First truck!! Past two vehicles were Explorers and love the truck already. Although after reading the long trail with respect to problems with the leather seats, a little concerned. Are there any SuperCrew Lariat owner's that have had problems with excessive wear on their seats? Need advice/suggestions on a good leather care product and conditioner (please advise). Does Ford protect the leather (out of the factory) against spills, stains, etc. or should I have this done after market? Your thoughts, comments, advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Well I don't have the 01 supercrew, but i do have an 01 Supercab Lariat f-150 and it has leather seats. I went with the dealer supplied seat protection, dont know if it's really if any good but it does come with a seven year replacement warranty for the seats. I like the leather in my explorer better, but this leather seems to be fairly sturdy.

Does anybody have advice on how to remove the following spots (all put there by the transport from States to Europe)
Oil spots: Grease Spots: Pen markings: (Next time I'm going to buy a pet rattle snake to protect my seats) |
Dutchy,
Go to a janitor suply store and get some volatile wet solvent. It is the strongest and safest thing that I know of for removing pen marks. Apply it to the stains, blot it up, and rinse the area with water. It should work well on the grease marks too. Some stores don't carry it and may have to order a quart for you. It works well on other stains too. [This message has been edited by seacrow (edited 10-24-2000).] |
I've used Simple Green to take of grease and pen marks on my leather seats. Simply spray on a 50-50 mix and wipe off. Then I wiped off the SG with a damp cloth because I was not sure what it would do to the leather. Worked great.
