leaking door seals on supercab

Has anyone else had a problem with the seal for the doors leaking? It is only on the passenger side and seems to leak where the two doors close on each other. I have tried to push them on the edge more but they seem to be in the proper position. I have made sure that the seals are clean and free of debris. Also I now have 18,000 miles on it so I don’t think it will be covered under the warranty. Thanks for any help.

18K miles on an 03?

Yes, you're still covered under warranty. The factory warranty covers 3 years or 36K miles (whichever comes first) and it's bumper to bumper.

Call the stealership and get an appointment with service.

I thought that door seals would be under the 12 month or 12,000.
Thanks i will make the appointment with the dealer.

nditech,

Let us know how you make out. I'm having the same problem on the driver's side of my '01. One more thing to put on the list...

I'm not familar with a stipulation inside of the 3/36 that states 12/12months for anything.

My understanding was bumper to bumper 3/36. No exceptions. (well, with the exception of the obvious - brakes, tires, oil, etc).

Anyone know of such a thing? This worries me because I have a cut in one of my door seals that I intended on getting taken care of under warranty.... it's not leaking but, I know it's there and know it eventually will.

The reason I said that is i had an escort that had a bad door molding and had to fight with the dealer to get it replaced. And that is the reason i said that. I also have some stiching comeing undone on one of the seat back pocets. I guess i will call in the moring for that appt. was just to busy today. I'll let you know what they say.

Please keep me/us posted on what's going on nditech. I don't think you'll have any problems with getting the stitching taken care of... and I really doubt they'll give you much grief for the seal. Good luck!

Well I just got the truck back and they said they have to order the seal for the door and a new cover for the seat. I guess the worst part of the deal is that they had the truck since 7:45 this moring and when i get their at 3:00 the truck has been done but they hadnt called to let me know it was ready for pick up. I just happened to be at that end of town so I decided to stop in and check on it. Oh well at least they ordered the parts.

:beers:

Well got the truck in after the parts came in. they replaced the seat cover and the seal all seems to be in good shape. the door hasnt leaked yet so i guess it is good to go. oh and no cost all done under the warranty

:beers:

I wished I had as much luck as you. I have been fighting with leaking doors since a month after I got my truck (2003 custom ordered STX). I have had it in at least 6 times, and finally just before the 36,000 mile warranty was up they agreed to put it up on some sort of machine that they couldn't show me, that would tilt the truck while they ran water down it. My truck only leaks when parked on an incline one way or the other. If I park so that the driver's side is to the top of the hill, I get water between the vinyl floor and the grey plastic moulding that the door sits on.

The dealer continually told me they could find no evidence of a leak. However, I just pulled up my vinyl flooring to run an amplifier power line, and discovered that the padding under the vinyl is so wet that I got a cup of water out of it just by letting it drain!

So, in essence, the dealer has won by screwing me around until the warranty had expired. I guess I should have figured the same, since they wouldn't do any work on the detonation I get under partial load on the truck.

Do any of ya'll have any clue what the likely culprit is? Or should I take it to a dealer in another city?

leaking Scab

I have an 04 scab that leaks water to the passanger side. The dealer have changed the third light and door seals and nothing. Have someone had the same problem and found where is the leak. Thanks
Abel PR.
