Led bed lights, $2 on amazon

Just ordered these

http://amzn.com/B005EHHLD8

If you read the reviews, a few down someone posted pics of them used to light the cargo area of a pickup truck, looks good to me!

For $2 I'm in. Comes with 16 feet spool.

They supposedly just stick on as they are adhesive backed. Plan to do both sides, and run the power wire to my cargo light 12v and that should be it, believe I can get that wire in the door sill on the drivers side.

To make the wire run neat, I have to look around but thinking either drop the wires behind my bed liner and into the cavity where the taillights are then follow that wire run, or another run based on what I can see poking around.

Wow, nice find! Post up pics along your install and your results! If it looks good I'll get a roll too.

This is the same stuff that I used almost five years ago. I just wired it to a rocker switch mounted under the bed rail at the back so I can turn them on or off when needed. So far the adhesive is still sticking.

I'll let up guys know how it turns out for sure.

Pisses me off that companies here, like recon, charge $100 for a kit and they just buy the same stuff from china and repackage it.

Hopefully these ripoffs will end when people wake up and buy direct.

I use the same lights to light the inside of my boat and they work good. Make sure you clean the surface well before you install them, the adhesive isn't the best. I had to use extra double sided tape on the ends of mine. Also, be careful when installing them, the strip tears pretty easily.

They came 2 days ago from china, from someplace I never heard of. Took a few weeks to get here.

Anyway, they look great even uses 3m adhesive strip on it. I also have a pop lock for my tailgate, so I plan to install both this weekend. I'll post pics when I'm done, I only get to work after the kids go to sleep so we'll see how much I get accomplished.

Just finished installing the passenger side, they fit great under the rail and the install is really clean. See pics.

Just finished the driver side, cleaned up, calling it a night.

I have the wires routed under the truck where the pop and lock cable run will be, so I'll do the pop and lock next time I have time and run the led light cable with that run into the cab........

Probably won't be until next weekend.

How do you plan to control them? I was thinking if I did this I would tap into the cargo light circuit so when I turned the cargo light on with the dimmer switch they would also come on.

Exactly what I'm doing. Just need to find the right wires. Have to look at the schematic and hopefully they are in the passenger door sill that would be the easiest to get too......

Other option I see people do is put a switch in the bed so you can flip them on there, that requires you to get power run to the bed.

Here they are all done, I am impressed, perfect lighting.

This is a picture with all the lights in my garage off and the tonnea cover on.

For the wiring, I got the cargo, light power on the driver side. Search cargo light wire and it will come up on a search here how to wire that in, it was easy.

Enjoy, $2 upgrade.

$2 is a little low, you also need the following materials to wire them in.

1. Grommets for running wire through bed, a few bucks
2. I used a 2 wire cable, about 15 ft. Probably run you $20 I guess, I got some extra from work so free for me
3. Quick connect to tap into the cargo light wire, cheap.
4. Terminal lug to ground for a ground, cheap as well.

Also I see some people talking about a relay, no need for one since these are led and draw very little current. No problems here....... Believe the circuit I tapped had a 15 amp fuse.
