HID ProComp Conversion

I have a pair of ProComp SlimLites with 55w bulbs. Can I fit a standard H3 HID bulb in them? I've looked all over and haven't seen anyone who's retroed these yet.

Here's what they look like compared to a pair of regular KC Daylighters

You can try putting an H3C HID bulb in there. But that look plastic to me so you're on your own for that.

what's the difference in a H3C and a regular H3?

HID-wise, the size. H3C on the left, regular H3 on the right

That's a big difference, any noticable difference in light output?

Is that tiny-**** bulb gonna be even remotely close to the focal point of the internal reflector? I feel like higher powered Halogen is gonna be best for this one, then you can run it with high beams.

I used to take 55 watt bulb lights and throw 100 watt bulbs in them to use with high beams. I did this with a pair of lights that I thought were quality and I ended up torching them because the 100 watt bulbs were to hot. I would be worried about the plastic housing and the extra heat generated by the higher output bulbs in those plastic housings. If they had stainless or metal housings I would do it in a heart beat but I will not do it to plastic housing lights ever again.

Actually its the other way around. The H3C is the same shape as the regular h3 halogen bulb to retain focal properties. The one on the right is the one that will be messed up

I fitted H3 bulbs in a set of Hella 500ff bodies... It worked just fine for me... I know that this is a different light, but it looks about the same thickness....

Well, I got the bulbs ordered lol I guess it'll be a waiting game to see if I damage the housings or not. Just installed a pair of Lightforce 240s, so I'm not to worried about light output anymore

Holy lights Batman..... If you can't see in the dark with those there is not much that's going to help. Looks good I would love to try Lightforce lights but the price tag is what keeps me away from them.

I got my pair for $150 off of craigslist

I'm wanting the HIDs in my procomps on the sides aimed off into the ditch, and have my LFs spot beamed down the road... at least thats the plan

I really don't like you right now...........Kidding of course.

I like the idea, I need to do something before winter to get better lighting on my truck but with lack of funding it's kind of difficult.
