1. Yes it is, but from a higher W halogen bulb. You can see in the second picture it is there before the foglight was even opened. I wanted to try the melted one before the good fog light. I'm now thinking of just switching the clear plastic from the good foglight.

2. The clear plastic shouldn't have any effect on light output. Unless I kept the burnt lens on.

Just give Matt a call and he will set you up....also if you get the entire kit, you can take advantage of the group buy (code: F15025) for 25% off on the matchbox set.

I won't get them in till late next week, so no shots till then. I used a heat gun and it chewed up the edges pretty good. I'm going to use the oven method on the new fog lights. I broke a halo so I'm waiting for a replacement. I cannot seal them up till then.

Best way to get the fogs apart I found......heat oven to 240*, turn oven off and place fog light on thin cardboard and let sit in oven for 10 min. Then take thin screwdriver and work around the edges and the lens will pop right off.

on a side note:......has anybody received their kits yet from the 'Group Buy' ??

Or you can keep the oven on at 225* for 8-10 mins. It cools down rapidly as soon as you take it out so you have to work quick.

The fog lights are cake. 240 for 6 minutes. They don't use permaseal, I had them open in 30 seconds.

LOL!
I used a heat gun on my other light as well. If done right I got the lens off in 2-3 minutes. I got pictures on how to use the heat gun without making damage or melting the lens. I'm still busy but plan to get them done sometime next week.

Haha yeah I was beyond surprised...the crap was like silly putty, didn't even need to re-heat it to scrape it all out.

But from a pure performance standpoint, your plan for 9005 Halogens with Kats-Zetas will outperform any HID projector in fowl-weather. Although having the boosted Halogens in a projector would be best for the width of the output compared to factory reflectors.

The problem is my FX-Rs limiter is so low, I can't even see if the fog lights are on or off. With HIRs and Zetas I'd get ~900 lumens more, but I really don't NEED them, just more of a WANT
