HID help needed!
The past week I ordered HIDs from DDM tuning for my heads and fogs. I ordered H10 35W 5000K and got them hooked up and working no problem. My problem is with the Heads. I ordered 9007 55W single beam. I cant seem to get either side to get the heads to light up. The little blue connector has me scratching my head. If you have any tips or suggestions it would be enormously appreciated!

here's a tip for ya! just send it all back since 55w hids in halogen reflectors is dumb. but we all know that so onto the problem..
1. have you check to make sure you are getting power to the factory plugs? 2. have you checked your fuses? 3. have you made sure all pins are aligned correctly and in the right order? 4. have you tried a halogen bulb to see if it still works? 5. try flipping the plug that goes INTO the ballast and see if that makes them fire. grab your flame suit, you are more than likely going to get judged for using 55w pnp hids in your heads.. |
Heh, do you at least have clear lenses (I assume since you're using 9007, it's a 97-03 truck?)
What blue connector, is it the one that hooks on to the factory plug? |
First off, get two flashlights and strap them to your hood, they'll give you more light than those PnPs.
Secondly, The little blue connector goes into the stock bulb plug (just one). If that doesnt work, they usually come wired for a 9004, not a 9007, so you have to flip the high and ground prongs |
Figured it out. I didn't have the connection to the stock wire harness in all the way. Also I'm a broke college student these PNP HIDs are the best light output for my money, Don't hate.

I'm also a broke college student. Retrofit, meet Pell Grant

Set me straight on this, A "retrofit" is taking a projector lamp and rigging it into your normal reflector housing? is that right? So if I did do a retrofit is there a lamp that uses the 9007 bulb and set up that I already have?

Retrofits are OEM housings using the D2S bulb.
