Headlights on = radio display flickering
I have an 02 F150 supercrew FX4 with about 64,000 miles.
When the headlights are on the factory radio display slowly flashes from dim to bright, I have also noticed the odometer started doing it as well. It is only when I am sitting at idle or not giving it any gas. The truck runs fine, meaning the motor does not respond the same way as the radio. When the headlights are off there are no problems with the display. I did recently degreased the engine: applied degreaser and gently sprayed out the engine trying to avoid direct contact with any electrical components. Also Ford just switched out the seat belt female end because the sensor was bad inside of it. Not sure if either of these contributed to the problem.
I have checked the following items already:
Altenator and battery checked good by: O'Reillys, AutoZone, and local starter shop // 12V on the battery; constant 65V on the alternator when at idle with or without the headlights on
Radio: swapped with a buddys radio, same results
Any ideas?
