HID's getting installed tomorrow
I know everyone here likes to do the retro-fit and all, but I just can't afford that, but I did go with some projectors for the wives 06 expy. Got her an 8000k kit and switch backs. HID kit and LED's came in today, and headlights will be here tomorrow. I am gonna take some pics and vid's of before and after and will post tomorrow. Once I am done with the exterior of hers, I can concentrate on mine. She already has the LED rears and third brake light, full LED interior, 35% tint. All I have left is the Precision mesh grill, and projector fogs with 3000k HID as well. I hope this goes easy and will let you all know how it went down. :rocker:

Ok well here is problem 1. Got the HID kit yesterday, and this morning started the install and got everything wired up. Well, just received the projectors and wouldn't you know it, they use an H3 headlight and not the factory 9006. So called HID Nation and they are going to exchange, however I am leaving Sunday and needed them soon, so I ordered the H3 bulbs and am sending the 9006's back for a refund. Here are some teaser pics to tide until Friday when I get the H3 bulbs to finish the job. Saving halo wiring until then as well.

More pics tonight to show the difference of halogen and HID.

waiting for output pics...
FYI aftermarket headlights rarely use OEM bulbs :P but you already know that now :D |
Took output pics with halogens last night and will post here in a couple of hours, but I have a question. What is the best way to wire the halos to make them removable should anything happen to the headlight. I'm not big on the crimping, but that seems to be the only way, so I was thinking of tapping into the factory parking lights with single wire, and terminating that with some sort of connection to attach the halo wires so that they will be removable. Any other suggestions will be greatly accepted.

if you have any experience with t-taps, wire taps, etc. that'd be your best bet in my opinion. it requires no splicing and depending on which style you get there can be no crimping and all you would need is a pair of pliers.

Ok sounds like a good route to go. And as promised, here are the halogen output pics and pics of all the LED's everywhere else. Looking to find out what size bulb is in the visor vanity mirror. Tiny little thing.
