His lights seem to reflect to much off the water and snow

 

reflection pattern is different. you are comparing two lights in two different housings. apples to oranges.

 

Wow haha, i appreciate all the input. and yes, most of my friends, like me , are only 2 years out of high school, but i understand that higher K values means less light projected, but unfortunately, i love the bluish purple glow as well. and to make matters wore, ive put smoked covers on my truck and i love how it looks during the day. so im in a catch 22 situation and idk how to get out haha. from what ive read, i tink i may just get higher watt 8k's with the covers. but im not completely sold yet..

 

and if you do I'll reach through your monitor and slap you in the face

after raptor gets done smackin' you around, post a pic of how bad they hinder light output. im wanting a set for daytime usage but would like to know how bad they cut down on the light

ok ok, no need to slap me haha. not getting smoked covers.. i am getting clear corners, and probably going to 50w 6000k's and then once i get my fogs one ill get those probably either 4300k or 5000k.. sound better? haha

 

Whick "50W" kit are you getting? There are only a handful of ballasts that actually put out ~50W. Most chinese copies that claim 50W are rebadged 35W.

 

i havent looked into anything yet, im comfortable with the 8k's i have right now.. if i get one it'll probably be from a auto f/x shop nearby..
