Fog light bulb question for HID
 

Hi guys this is my first post on here I have been looking around for a while and used what I have read on here to take apart my grille and paint it. Also I changed my head lights to the lighting style ones and put in 55w 5000k hid's now I would like to get HID bulbs for my fog lights but I am having trouble finding out what HID bulb to use I have the DDM kit for my head lights and really like them and would like find a bulb from them to use in my fogs as well. What is the part number or what bulb should be used? It has been confusing reading conflicting reports about bulbs for the fogs. Also Im am trying to find some good clear replacements fog light housings what do you guys suggest. All I have saw is some made by DEPO are they any good? This is all for a 2001 EB expedition.

hey bud, ddm is stopping the sales of there hids i believe. im not sure on the bulb size but somebody on here will turn up with that result. but depo is a very good brand in my opinion. i put them on my old 2001 f150 and they looked and performed excellent. i now have there led tail lights and they are great as well. i would not suggest running a 55 watt kit in your fogs.. but thats just my opinion

Like Daniel has stated, DDM has suspended all future sales of HID kits. A 35W HID kit will run fine (even though you will be causing glare, I hope you only intend to run these in non-urban areas, right?) with 55W causing so much glare its retarded. Search around for other reputable companies, and make sure they have a lifetime warranty.

yes i have searched they dont make a 9145 bulb but I think that you can use a H10 instead. But wasn't sure? Yea I was going with a 35w I just ordered a HID kit from them last week and got it when did they suspend sales of them?

H10 and 9145 are the same exact bulb. It's just a different nomenclature for 4-digit ID.

A 9007 bulb can also be referenced as a HB5 bulb.

And as far as I know, come the end of this month, DDM HID sales are done. Do order now if you want them. Or else look for another company.

theres not much of a difference between 55 watt and 35 watt in reflector housings as far as visibility goes, correct? just A LOT more glare with 55 watt. correct me if im wrong raptor but i installed a set of 55 watts in a mustang and compared to the 35 watts in our mustang there was not a huge night and day difference i didnt think..

Your correct.

About the only noticeable difference you will see between 55W and 35W in a reflective housing are the amount of glare being created, and a difference in the color appearance of the HID bulbs.

You don't really gain any light output with 55W unless you are running projectors.

Yeah there is only a 15-20% brightness difference in 35W to 55W (if it is controlled properly)
