Quality HID's
 

Well, I bought a pair of cheap Bi-xenon Hid's about a half year ago. They screwed up my electrical system some how. I think its because how low quality they were, something must have leaked or been exposed. Nevertheless, I fell in love with the look and are looking for a new set. Anyone know a GOOD QUALITY pair of Bi-xenon headlights? A good quality company? Etc. Thank you

Like Daniel said, prepare to get talked to about HIDs in a OE reflective housing.

But besides that, you can make the HIDs permanent. That will consist of doing a projector retrofit into the housings. There are at least 3 members on here with 04-08 trucks that have done this.

DDM Tuning is a reputable company, of which I have had good experiences in the past, but they will soon be discontinuing HID sales by the end of this month.

Retro Solutions or Mcculloch in a retrofit housing is the best way to go.

Forgot to mention that Retro-Solutions would probably be the best quality and warranty you can find. My retrofits are from Retro and are also warranted for life.

Yeah i have Retro Solutions and I would love to get the retro fit from them.

THE best HID kits out there? McCulloch, Philips, Osram Xenarc, etc. They are OEM for many automotive companies. Bulbs are around $100/ea and OEM ballasts can run from anywhere from $50 used/ea to $400 new/ea. Just search around.

Morimotos from www.theretrofitsource.com are a good kit, I have their 50W system in my truck for a little over 50 hours now.

Has anyone ever had problems with their HID's? You want to hear my story? Well i was driving and my electrical system just cut off for like 2 seconds, then it turned back on and everything was reset. Then my positive battery terminal started overheating and melted some of connectors. Also my foglights fuse blew. Weird stuff

hmmm. that sounds weird. what wattage kit were you running? 35 or 55 watt? bi-xenon or low beam beam only?

You must've wired something wrong, sounds like a massive short somewhere

I dont think I wired anything wrong, followed instructions (plus it was pretty self explanatory). Is there any way to stop the lights from flickering also, or does that something to do with the quality yet again?
