Well ya I assumed that much...I shouldve phrased it better. What type of LED strip is that?
EDIT:.......SMT? it is the WFLB96 series 96-LED Waterproof Flexible Light Bar almost at the bottom of the page. The website is superbrightleds.com, they have all kinds of stuff. oh and the color i used was cool white. I used rtv silicone to hold them into place in my headlights. If you do end up buying these you need to pay close attention to where you trim them at because they can only be cut at certain spots on the strand. There should be a small icon that resembles a pair of scissors and i believe that there is a small notch in the copper colored strip that runs through the strand that is placed every third led. |
Any significant light output or just for looks?
|
I did it for just the look. They do put off a decent amount of light but i wouldn't suggest trying to drive by just them. Like when I get next to semis on the highway, I light up the whole side of the trailer with those. I just wanted to add some attitude to the front.

Not nearly as fancy as the other modifications.. but this is an idea I've been toying around with and finally did:
Here's a short clip.. I'll get something better when it's light out. http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w...ent=003-12.mp4 |
not bad, shamrock. looks OEM

I'll let you know how it goes.....And if they aren't visible, oh well, they will just go with the running lights until I can get projectors. I'm on a tight budget for projects for this truck.
that's probably part of my problem haha. i've been doin a bit to slow myself down with that though :). lookin good |
Well they weren't useless at the time. I had no intention on putting HID's in, but my friend insists on putting them on my truck so I was going to let him since they are free to me. All i will have to do is fogs so they match. Or at least look like they match. So they will become useless if the HID's make them non-visible.

invest in switchback led turn signals and that set up would make killer manual DRLs!

Also installed 2 55w Procomp Driving lamps. Not as good as my KC 100w, but they're ok for the ditches. Had to make up a new light bar too.
