ac bypass

looking to bypass my AC compressor on my 08 f150 5.4L

I can't find anyone who makes a bypass pulley kit for a 2008 5.4. Why do you want to bypass it?

This *MIGHT* work, read all the comments on the YouTube page:

The reason there is no kit, is because you only need a shorter belt, according to these diagrams:

I'd rather suspect you'll need a different tensioner, one that pushes the opposite direction as does the stock one with A/C and with a grooved pulley.

Manual, do those diagrams apply to a 5.4 3 valve in 2004+?

From what I can tell yes. There's not a whole lot of info out there about doing this on the 3v.

AC took a dump and not looking to fix it till the spring. Looking for temporary fix till then. The belt in that video says it is a 78.5 belt. I could not get a 79 on, but I did not try loosening the alternator as stated in the comments. Ill give that a try and see.

Tensioner

Where can you find a tensioner that pulls in the other direction? Because the part numbers look the same but its definitely not right?

glc 01-02-2021 06:19 PM

6B209 is only part of the whole part number.

It looks like the tensioner for vehicles without A/C is Motorcraft BT65 (Ford 2L3Z6B209CA), but could only find the belt for A/C equipped vehicles. Good luck.
