I was wondering what would all be involved in replacing the heater/fan controls with the digital climate control...

 

I'm gonna do this soon. There are threads that don't show any results, just a lot of in progress things. I have seen on other boards that it is possible, just takes some thinking and time. I have started to collect the parts, just need the wiring diagrams. So if anyone has the schematics for a 2007 I would appreciate it.

 

I was originally talking about the 99-03, but i bet the 04-08 would be pretty similar so you should make a thread about the process when you get around to doing it. Good luck!

 

Well i got the wiring diagrams, so one step closer. Gonna order a few parts next week so i should be ready to start once they get here.

I have posted at least twice what components are involved in swapping and how the harnesses vary from manual to electric HVAC units. Not only that but it depends on the dash too because finding an auto HVAC panel to fit a non console dash is impossible.
this is for 04-08 MY

The previous gens may be a little bit easier but there are still a few components that will need to be added.

 

any ideas what they would be?

 

I ordered a few parts which will be here next week. I picked up the Dash controller from ebay for 30-40. I also ordered the Blower motor controller, in-cab temp sensor, connector for that and the trim panel from the '06 FX4 with Luxury package. I know there needs to be another connector for the controller, but I could not get one from the junk yards and just soldered six leads to the socket. I might do the full write-up, but i dunno yet. Should get it done next week once everything comes in. I will take a lot of pics though.
