01 F250 Compressor notcoming on

So a few weeks ago we finally figured out why the compressor wasn't coming on. It was the clutch air gap. So it worked fine after removing a shim. It hadn't worked in a couple years. So for a couple weeks I had ice cold air. Last week I noticed it wasn't super cold and now this week no compressor and no air. I only use the truck maybe once a week. I checked today and the compressor clutch relay isn't picking. It's not the relay coil itself as I swapped it with the blower motor relay and still nothing. Any ideas?
Thank you!

Check your refrigerant pressures.

Since the system hadn't been used for a long time, the seals on the compressor shaft may have dried out from lack of lubrication. When the system started again, the dried-out seals may have leaked out your refrigerant.

Well I don't know much about AC but I was kinda wondering if it was the compressor as that's been out of the loop for a couple years. I'll check it out.
Thank you

Is that something repairable or is it new compressor time?

You have to find out what the problem is first. Checking the high and low side pressures will tell you if the refrigerant is low. If it is low, I would just charge it and see how long it stays in the system. If it is leaking out, it could be leaking from one of many places, not just the compressor. If it needs to be charged, maybe add a can of refrigerant with the dye in it to help find the leak.

If you don't know much about AC, I recommend you have a pro look at it.
