ac compressor squeak?

Recently my ac compressor decided to start squeaking. It started to only do it on start up but would go away with revving. Now theres a loud whoosh up in the cab like air is moving but I can’t feel it come out anywhere. Now it also doesn’t go away with revving. It can go away after a while or after a minute but doesn’t always do it on start up. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I also have the squeeling AC compressor. Found that it is the clutch not fully engaging to the pully face due to wear. Found somewhere, maybe this fourm a drawing for the clutch that shows shims that can be removed to get the clutch plate tighter to the pully face. The drawing shows the required spacing and how to adjust the spacing with the shims.
I don't know about the blast of air coming into the cab. Maybe you have a different problem than I do. Good luck.

The noise goes away when the clutch finally fully engages the pully. I PMed you with the location of the diagram. It was on one of these fourms.

I haven't smelled any burning or smoke.
I checked my clearence between the clutch and pully and it was right on the .035". The other thread said if it is .060", remove the shims to move the clutch plate closer to the pully face. Now I'm thinking I have a weak clutch coil. I have verified it is my AC clutch making the noise. It's loud.

Ok so I consulted my dad about it and he said no worries...boy was he wrong. was in the exhaust shop today to get my new muffler on (https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=330149) and when all was said and done the guy goes to start it and it cranks slow and needed a lot gas to run, then smoke comes out from the hood and he turns it off...turns out the compressor has seized up solid. Long story short, $780 I have a new compressor and belt. O well guess its better that it broke in an automotive repair complex than out at Frank Raines OHV, CA next weekend (https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=324829).

Sorry madmaxwell87 to hear about your compressor. Mine is still squealing and doing it more often. I had an old 73 Nova that the compressor siezed up on us while traveling across Kansas in the summer. Luckly I could cut off the belt and the other belt driven equipment had seperate belts that got us home. It sure was a hot drive. Now you're ready for the summer.
