Compressor not pumping

Left my 97 F150 4.6L at the airport for about a week, came back and no AC. My compressor is not switching ON. Is there a solenoid or something that can go bad and cause the compressor to not be triggered?

There are a lot of things that activate the compressor. Most probable solution is you need to recharge your system. When the freon is low the system will shut down.
