Dryer/accumulator question

I am in the process of putting a new dryer/accumulator in my '98 F-150.

Once I had the old dryer out, I removed the valve core and a good deal of the oil came out of that opening. As indicated in the Haynes manual, I drilled a couple of holes to get the remaining oil out so I could see how much was in there.

When putting the oil in the new dryer, should I remove the valve core and pour the oil in there since that is where the majority of the oil drained out of the old unit? Or can I pour the oil in either of the two lines?

Thanks for any input.

You can add the oil to either port. there is no need to remove the valve core.
