Factory Head Unit w/ AM/FM and 6 CD changer. My truck had been sitting for almost 2 years; I had removed the battery prior to leaving. When I returned last month, replaced battery (metered at 15.4 volts) turned the key and the 5.4 Triton fired right up. The radio would intermittently cut out, then come back on and stay on. Yesterday it would not power up at all. Owner's manual says fuse 31 (20amp) is for radio power. I checked it, the link looked good, no breaks, but went ahead and replaced it with a new one. Still no go; any suggestions?

 

15.4 sounds too high, maybe bad radio.

 

I recommend getting your charging system checked out. First, start with your alternator. Something's not right if you are getting 15.4 volts.
