Radio has AUX button but where do I plug in?

Just bought a new to me 2006 Screw with the In-dash 6 disc MP3 changer. Would like to avoid the step of burning MP3 CD's and use a USB/MP3 player in the AUX port. Where do I plug it in? Most have a 1/8" jack on the front?

Check your center consol or behind the consol in the back seat?

No input jacks at either location. My truck doesn't have the "center console" the middle flips up to make the 3rd set in the front. No input jack near the 12V port in the back seat either.

No jacks. You need an aux hookup like the one Brandmotion makes.

2006 models have no factory input jack. The Aux. button is for switching between AM/FM mode and Satellite radio if the truck is so equipped

Neither the 06's nor the 07's have this. If I recall correctly the jack in the top of the dash didn't start until 2008

That is for switching to the aux device over the CAN bus on the radio.

If you want it to be a MP3 player, you will need either something like the iPod interface that Brandmotion makes ( nice gear if you have an iPod nothing better ) or if you have a std 2.5mm headphone MP3 player, like the one from Pie.net which gives you a 2.5 mm jack to plug into the MP3 player.

The Brandmotion one works even with the SAT raido in, the PIE.Net does not ( at least from what I can recall with the factory device ).

somebody got the link to brandmotion, from what I have been reading, my 04 has the aux botton on the front, BUT needs the 16 pin wire connector that plugs into the back of the stock head unit, which then will play music off my ipod. could somebody verify this? I don't want to change or replace my stock unit, or deal with wire cutting. I just want to buy the conversion harness that plugs into the empty space on the back of stock unit, plug the other end into my ipod and call it a day.

        thanks

        2007 was the first year.

The dash top pad with Aux connection slot should be a direct fit and plug & play. I love having it, however I wish it was not upright on top of the dash.

Take it out and move it to where you want it. Put a extension on it and then your placement would be what ever you want

Thanks. I think I like this better than the Brandmotion and can run multiple devices (iPod, MP3).

Nope, the '07s had them. My Dad's '07 has one, like my '08 STX.
