oem replacement Q's

Have an 02' standard head unit with CD player, single disc. ( BTW CD player doesn't seem to work)

can i swap in a newer style OEM head unit with 6disc MP3 player??...like from a 06-07 fusion/mustang/f150

not looking for much of anything supper fancy ..just something I can play burned MP3 disc on.
