Head unit dead!

Hey guys,
I have an 07 with the factory sub package. I get in my truck and the head unit is dead. No power, no clock, nothing. I checked the fueses and removed he unit and played with the wiring just in case there was a loose wire or something. Any known problems with others? Anything else to check or at this point, I just need to bring it in. TKS!

No nav, just the 6 disc changer and sub package.

doesn't seem like much should go wrong with that unit....you sure you checked all your fuses?

I checked the 5 amp that's marked Radio. I guess others might effect it as well. I'll get more into it tonight.

Got it running again. I pulled one of the radio fueses and replaced it. It was not bad. I guess it just wasnt making good contact.

Thread revival....

Do you happen to remember which fuse? I have a problem with radio working on smooth roads. But if there's a bump of any kind the radio will stop then come back on. Sometimes it's off for days, other times it's just a few minutes.

Thats sounds like a loose wire and not a fuse. The owners manual for the truck has all of the fuse numbers and what they control in it, so you can check that and get the number. If it is an aftermarket headunit, then it is most likely a loose wire.

I agree. This happened with two different oem radios as well. The jvc unit I just put in is all soldered so I know there isn't a problem there. I had hoped it was the oem radios were the prob and not the stock wire harnesses or flakey body control module. I'll try some new fuses for the ignition and radio today.
