I am looking to upgrade my factory head unit in my 2007 FX2. I have read through most of the threads in this section and really haven't found what I am looking for. I am looking to buy a double din size. Navigation and DVD would be nice, but not necessary. I have these in my Escalade and they rarely get used. I have a Sirius radio I added to the truck. I would like to have the unit satellite ready, but that isn't necessary either. Unfortunately, I don't get to drive it on a daily basis because I have a company truck so I don't need it to do everything in the world. I have read a lot of reviews on Crutchfield.com, but there are some units that don't have any reviews from actual buyers. I would like to keep it under or around $400, but $500 would be the max. I will be adding a subwoofer and amp at some point as well. If you have experience with any certain units, please post the pros and cons and your opinion of the unit.

One unit I am looking at, but I can't seem to find a real informative review on it is the Clarion VX401. Does anyone have any experience with this unit?

 

I just started looking at this as well and w/o NAV and DVD you can keep the price very reasonable. Kenwood, Alipine and Pioneer seem to have VERY good reviews. If looking at NAV, the Kenwoods seem to be the best.

 

I have this one from PioneerAVH-P3100DVD and I love it!! Shown here in my 06 Super Crew. It is the previous model to the new Pioneer 4100. I paid about $400 for it but, since the new one has come out they can be found for much cheaper. Now if you do want the NAV and all the bells and whistles, look at the pioneer 3200.

 

look at the jvc kwnt3hdt if you search you can find one for that kind of money... AND get all the bells and whistles.
