How to wire new in-dash A/V reciever to stock harness?

I bought a Boss BV9565Bi in-dash reciever and I'm having trouble wiring it up.
It came with a scosche FDK11 harness to help me wire it to my stock harness, but the colors don't match up. I color matched them the best I could and it didn't turn on. Is there any guide and/or advice anyone can give me to wire this thing up properly please? I've never wired a head unit before.

Yea the power and ground were the obvious ones lol.
I dont have a picture at the moment I'm working offshore with cleaning BP's oil spill, but all I need to know is how to wire the ones that dont color match. How am I supposed to know which ones go to what?

70% of them don't match. I'm pretty sure I need a diagram as to what each wire represents on the harness I have.

according to the owners manual downloaded from crutchfield, it should have the CEA compliant wire colors, just as the FDK11 should. Yellow, Red, Black, White, white black, gray, gray/black, green, green/black, purple, and purple/black
