New Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD

Finally got my new Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD. Installed it this morning and absolutely LOVE it. Thing looks good fit is perfect, and sound amazing. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone looking to upgrade there stock unit. Sorry the picture is with my camera phone will try to get better ones later. Plus it still has the protection plastic stuff around the edges.

Oh yea just a little note to anyone going to intsall there radio. Dont forget to get all the cds out of your old unit doh! Have to reinstall my old unit tonight and get them out

I bought it online at crispdeals. It was $390 something. It ended up being $409 shipped. It was the best deal I had found. Most places want between 400-450, and thats before shipping. The stock radio I had didnt have the MP3 input on it.

Got mine installed last night, with XM and Ipod connection. Already Infinity comps up front and Ref. 6832 in rear. Got the OEM sub connected that I got from a member here. It all sounds so, so, so much better now that it's all in place. Amazing how much difference the HU can make. Just gotta get the BU camera installed and test the relay "bypass".

I had my AVH-P4200DVD installed 2 months ago, I am very happy with this unit also, what a difference between this and OEM unit. I highly recommend this unit.
I had to buy a yellow top battery because I install the HU, the Alpine PDX 1.600, A Memphis sub and a roof monitor at the same day, my 3 years OEM battery died after only 5 minutes with the door opened and everything on. LOL.

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this. I have finally given up trying to get my audiophile HU aux working again. I can't believe that my battery dying, caused me to lose the ability to select line-in from the aux button. I've searched for months trying to find a solution but it appears that i would need to replace :-(

Anyhow, So with this p4200 is their anything else I need to buy (connectors etc). I have a 2007 with factory sub. Is it plug and play? Thanks for the recommendation.

pigmoder,

You'll need the surround/install kit that frames the HU out and fills in the dash opening, and you'll need the harnesses to make the connections.

Not using this as a sales pitch, but I do have all that left over. I had bought it seperate anticipating getting my HU that way, but ended up buying from Crutchfield and it was all included. So I've got an extra set of all that if you're interested. PM me and I'll make you a good deal on it to get it off my table at home.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking I might buy from crutchfield, and I think they supply that. Thanks for the offer anyway.

I'm sure this may be a silly question, but its the internet right: So with rear usb port I will need to mount an external usb port somewhere in my dash? I guess I could mount one next to the aux input in the top tray. This is kind of making me think 3200dvd just for the front usb. Then again, it would suck to have it break off into the stereo

The HU comes with a USB cable that will reach the glove box. You'd have to buy the accessory cable if you want to connect an Ipod, or a different cable for Ipod video.

I didn't want my Ipod connected to the front, I wanted mine in the glovebox as the HU does all the control or you can opt to control from teh Ipod.

Cabled mine up today and tested with relay. All is good :-) Gonna finish it up tonight. I ran the usb cable into glove, as suggested. Now I just gotta decide if I want to try and use the stock aux in jack in the tray, or run another cable to the glove. I read somewhere that you can use the stock 3.5 in the tray, but you need to splice some RCA cables and use RCA on the back of the HU. I wanted easy access to the 3.5 jack, as I use my phone for pandora, sat radio etc. What did you guys do for your aux in access? I was a bit surprised that the HU did not have the blue protective screen film on it. Oh well, it wasn't nicked or anything.

Thanks,
Scott

this is the 3200. i think the 4200 scrolls down and you load the card behind the screen. someone will chime in if im wrong.
