amp installation?

amp installation?

im about to install an amp in my truck and im using my stock 6disc changer in the 04 lariat. how exactly do i do this? does it have rca's and a remote wire or do i have to tap into something? if so... how?

No RCA outputs on the stock stereo. There is a remote wire (at least the audiophile head unit has one, I believe it's blue) you'll need to tap into, and you'll need a line out converter to tap into the stock speaker wires.

I'm sure others will comment on the best way to solve your problem, I just went ahead and bought a new head unit that has front, rear and sub RCA outputs.

For radios that don't have an actual remote wire, you can tap into the switched power wire.

If you have an amp that has speaker level inputs you can tap into you speaker wires and run 'em strait to the amp.
