I'm asking you this because you seem to be the expert on car audio/video. Do you recommend the XO Vison brand at all? There is one on walmart.com with bluetooth that looks pretty good. I know you get what you pay for, but the high end ones are so expensive. I want one that is sweet but not too expensive or too cheap. Also, I know I have seen threads where you have put the double din in the older models(mine is an 02), can someone make it look good or will it look kinda crappy? Thanks for your time and advice!

First, of all I dont believe ANYONE should by CA at walmart...

Second, I dont know too too much about the XO's. Its all internet only at CCity so I can honestly say I may have seen one or two (if that)..

Third, its not always getting what you pay for. I really like MonkeyVideo. I have messed with a few of their screens before and they werent bad. AND DAMN CHEAP!!!

You just have to decide, do you think it will look good? If so, do it. Try it out. If it doesnt work out for you do something different. Just be smart how you spend your money.

Walmart just sucks... 1st of all. Second they arent a audio shop and have no knowledge what belongs together. Let alone the right harness for your car. Hell you could have a 07 Chevy, there are four harnesses depending on the body and system. One they stock and the others they dont. The wrong harness in that truck and its screwed. (prolly save the owner some trouble... ) I had one of their antenna adaptors come in the other day... What a piece of crap. It had 5-6 different ends and was worthless.

Then to say you bought everything at walmart just sounds bad...

I agree for the most part, so what affordable brands do you suggest?

I got my Pioneer stereo, mounting kit, and harness for my truck at Wally World, everything went together and works great. It says on the back of the package what it fits, if your truck isn't listed then it won't fit.

If you have a Chevy then chances are an aftermarket stereo is the least of your worries.

I lost faith in our local audio shop after I had to argue with the guy that my Plymouth Laser took a Mitsubishi plug in rather than a Chrysler one, because he knew so much more than me he didn't think he needed to look it up, it wasn't even listed on the back of the package. The only thing "Chrysler" about the car is the borrowed name, it was identical to an Eclipse otherwise.

I figured I can do better on my own, and I have.

The internet is a great thing, research what you see where ever and make your own decisions from there. Wal-Mart's stuff is the same as everyone else's and usually cheaper in price. It seems the chances of running into a nimrod are pretty good where ever you go, so I go knowing what I want before hand and just have the guy unlock the cabinet and hand it to me.

hate to tell ya cheif, but depending on what year it is, it may take a mitsubishi plug just the same as a chrysler plug. We did one of these not too long ago that they guy brought us a mitsu harness...worked perfectly.

The first one he brought up and insisted would work didn't list my car on it, after I finally convinced him to look it up on the computer he went and got one that did have my car listed. Mitsubishi made a few Mopars and vice versa, so I can see the plugs interchanging between a few but since it isn't a sure bet I think it would warrent looking up rather than trying to act like you know it all.

For example:

For my 1990 Plymouth Laser:

For a 1990's Plymouth Acclaim (note it fits the old 80's Chrysler Laser, completly different car):
http://cgi.ebay.com/1992-Plymouth-Ac...2em118Q2el1247

I hate using Ebay to back me up, but crutchfield remembers the car you select so when you open the second one it doesn't work out right.
