Reprogramming factory h.u.
Having a slight problem here. 
Recently purchased a factory audiophile cd6 mp3 radio from an 07 explorer to put in my 06 f150. I couldn't get the illumination to work on the h.u. Did some research and founf that the explorers use a different wiring system to control the illumination. I didn't want to mess with my wiring too much so I sold that one and bought another one which now works fine. Now the problem is I sold the other one on ebay, the guy put it in his 07 explorer and the illumination still won't work?? Will a reprogram fix this?? The radio is brand new factory take out to replace with a nav unit. Will ford honor any warranty to fix if it is not the programming?? Any help appreciated!
