EQ install ?s

Ok, I have ordered a bunch of audio parts for my truck and they should be here anyday. I've been reading up on the install, and with the help of this forum it should go pretty well. I am just confused on how to install my EQ. I've read the owners manual online and have an idea, just not sure if it will work with my current set up. I may need to order another amp it looks like. Or that PAC instead and drop the EQ....I'm not looking spend a ton of $, so my parts are not the best.
I already had 2 12inch JL's w3
power acoustik 2200 1100x2
JVC g400 head unit- F/R preouts

On the way
10 dual box from Musicmooseaudio- with 2 12inch spacer plates
Head unit mounting kit
wireharness
Legacy 10 band Eq

Here is my set up and dilema.
I have my head unit with 2 sets of pre outs(jvcg400)
EQ(legecy 10band) has 3 sets out sub/front/rear -1 set input
and I only have one 2 channel amp for the subs. NO amps for the front/rear.
I got the EQ so I would have seperate sub woofer volume from it. that's the only option I care to use, more would be ok, but that is my main focus.......
How do I hook it up?
do I run a line from my out put to the input? and then my subs off the EQ?
and If i run a line from my Head unit output, which do I use, front or rear? or use both and get a Y connector and run F/R to the EQ line in???

Yup, you are on the right track, just run a rca from your deck, doesn't matter if you front or rear, since you have a volume control on your EQ, from the EQ sub out- plug it to your amp.

No reason to use a Y cable.

Until you get a second amp, you will have no audio control with your door speakers via the EQ. So go ahead, wire the speakers to your deck, and use the EQ for sub gain control.

In my experience, EQ's are more of a gimmick these days - and best for adding LED's to your dash. Have fun stuffing it all in there!

Thanks guys, I can't wait to start installing it.
I wish I had a 3rd output on my deck, but I just don't wanna upgrade the deck yet. Hopefully the install will go ok.
I may even get a 4 channel amp in the future.
When you wire a 2nd amp can I run my main 4 gauge wire to a dist block and then run the 2 amp cables off that? or do I have to run 2 cables from the battery?

My mounting kit came in today.
But they sent me a wireharness for a 2003 f150, I have a 04. I'm guessing it won't work. Any one know if it's compatable? I doubt it, I'm going to take out the head unit and check it out.

Will be a different plug. I assume you 04 is a "new body?" If so you will need any of the following.

Metra 70-5520
Bestkits BHA5800
Scosche FD05B

Dang I just seen this post.It is the new body style.
But yeah, I decided to just open it up and check out the prongs. figured it they aren't correct I could just give it to someone on here. But it worked perfect. Here is a couple pics. EQ didn't come in yet so it's just the head unit.
I took the advice of another member and ordered a 10 inch dual box from music moose with 12 inch spacer plates. There is no way they will fit.I don't know if they changed their design or what, the box on the website has different supports, this box has a full edge lip, I may need to just get 10's.I'm not sure Anyone want to trade or buy two 12 inch JL w3's? about 2 years old. I posted in the classifieds as well.

Those subs are going to face plant into the carpet and probably sound like doo doo. Do you have a seat lift installed? Cause you will have to add some length to the legs to get more space between the sub and the floor.

I found them on the Musicmooseaudio web site. But, don't order them just yet. I didn't have all the info from him when I went with this route. He had them make a custom 12 inch box,and his truck is a 2000, not sure space wise what differs, but the box will not work as is. and like impact says, as mine sit now, they will be super horrible poo poo SQ.. I decided to just go with 10 inch subs. I have not found which ones yet. I am looking at these, I don't want to spend tons, just have a decent set up.If you still want/need spacers, mine are available.

Do you wanna buy my spacers from me?
I don't need them.
what color interior do you have?
My spacers are tan...as you can see, also As I'm shocked that the TAN didn't even match the box and they both came from the same company..
I paid 25$ for them, plus shipping...
and will never use them now..
I'd let them go to you for 15 if you pay shipping...

Also, i decided to send my EQ back. and when I get ready to install my subs(once I get 10s)I will get the PAC1 instead...
