07 Aux button w/ AUX input tray

Does the 07 head unit that has the AUX input tray eliminate the need to buy a PIE adapter for a Sirius install? Tried to search the forums but could not really find a answer on this.

The input is a direct connect 1/8 jack for an audio device with headphone output such as an MP3 player to plug into.

Technically, yes, it does eliminate the need for a PIE adapter. However, the sound quality is much better with the PIE. Be careful if you go the PIE route. When I got mine for my XM it needed a new chip, which took 2 weeks to get and their shipping left a lot to be desired. All the pins were bent, but I was able to bend them back. Then I started having other problems. One of the cable fell apart. I wish I would have gone with another brand instead of PIE.
