2006 6 Disc system problems

I notice someone else posted they were having issues with a newer 6 disc unit. I have a 2006 Super Crew 4X4. Prior to this truck I had a 1997 Super Cab with a 6 disc changer. The new unit will not play most of the discs I've burned on my computer. It doesn't seem to have an issue with standard, store bought, discs. However at least 70% of the discs (MP3's) I've created at home will not play at all. Most of them start to load then the screen reads "bad disc" and the system ejects them. A smaller % load, then start to play and finally start skipping all over the place. Songs start, then restart and at times skips to another song in the middle of one song. These are the same disc I was playing just fine in my 97 F-150. I also have no problems playing them in my wife's 4Runner, our cheapy home boom box or my 68 VW bug. The player in my VW I bought at Wal-Mart for around $100. Heck these play fine in my Xbox system.

I've had the dealer replace the system once and still have the same issues. So I'm wondering has anyone who's had these issues found a solution?

This is driving me nutz. I live in an area where radio isn't a viable option.

Any input would be great.

CD player in my new 2006 F150 Lariat

The CD player in my new 2006 F150 Lariat wont play home made CD's. My home burned CD's will play in ANY other player and in any other car deck. I called the dealership, and they indicate that they have heard of the problem, but wont/don't offer any solution or answers. I want to know if the Ford CD players have been "crippled" as an anti piracy measure?

It may not be the problem, but are you using CD R's or CD RW's? CD RW's generally wont work in regular CD players.

Also, try slowing down the burning, to see if that helps.
