Head Unit Problems

I need help. I've searched and searched and as far as I can tell everything says this should work.

I have a new style '04 F-150 XLT with the factory single disc CD head unit. I've tried swapping in two different 6 disc players. One out of a 2005 and one out of a 2004 F-150.

Everything works except for the CD changer. It says "slots full" when I push the load button. And when I push eject it says "Eject Error". Also, when I push the CD button it says "Disc Error".

It does the exact same thing on both replacement 6 disc units. But everything else, like the radio and controls work fine.

Any idea's? I thought the first was maybe just a jammed changer, but now they both do it so I'm clueless?

Anybody have any ideas? I'm running on borrowed time here.

How many plugs do I need to make the 6 CD Changer work?
My truck only has one harness, it has a large rectangle connector on it.
My stock unit has two plug ins, a small square one and a long rectangle one.
The six disc has three, a long rectangle one, a small square one and a smaller square one.

What do I need to make it work right? I cant find anything to make it work, I just searched for "Changer" in the HU section and read everything I could find about the 6 disc unit but nothing was helpfull.

Thanks,
Brian

Did you buy the units your swapping brand new or refurbed? Make sure the shipping screw is removed from the radio if there are any!!! Just a thought.

Is the head unit the "Audiophile" unit? The unit has MP3 capability plus a subwoofer capability, plus Aux capability(for DVD unit). Try a thread search, there are several threads on programming/flash changes, who to call, etc.

I work for a salvage yard. They are out of other F-150's. I think it is just that the units were jammed from the accidents they were in.

I also found out that they were both equipped for a sub which I dont have. So I gave up and started looking for a radio without the Sub connection. I got to thinking about that right after it was mentioned here.

Thanks for the replys.
