Wiring Question

The plug with cables that go into the back of the radio has 4 brown wires, which according to the package are mute wires. The harness that plugs into the factory plug has only one brown wire.

Am I supposed to wire all 4 brown wires to the one brown wire?

Also what am I supposed to do with wires on the radio plug that have no corresponding matching color on the harness that connects to the vehicle plug?

Thanks

Tom

question 1
if you aren't planning on using the mute function, don't hook any up.

question 2
tape them up so they don't short out on anything.

I definitely want to be able to mute the radio. Do I wire all four brown wires to the one brown wire?

I don't have any radio controls on the steering wheel. Does this change things?

Thanks

I just called sonic electronics and they're telling me not to connect the brown wires. Just cap them off.

The wires that have no corespondence are things like power antenna, automatic muting of radio when cell phone rings (if your phone is capable of that,) auto power wire for amps (i think this is blue), illumination wire (radio will illuminate with the rest of your dash when you turn it on.)
