Replacement lower Billet grill

Im looking to replace the lower grill on my 02-HD. Does anyone make a lower billet grill that perfectly matches the upper, and DOES NOT attach to the stock plastic grill? I dont want one that just covers the old one if I can help it. I called J&J, but they say thiers PN 3902-27HD ($120), bolts onto the existing one. Any info would be appreciated along with your recomendations on which one, even if it does bolt to the existing grill, looks the best.

Thanks for the info.

Have not heard of one that replaces the top one. I have heard of a couple guys who have cleaned up the stock grille by removing some of the plastic and bars then mounting the new billet grille on top of it.

TonyJ, j-jent is the only company right now that makes lower grilles for the HD's that match the upper grilles.
i know what you mean though with the flush mounting. it just looks so much better and factory looking than an insert over top. it still looks good, but flush mount will look alot cooler IMO. I went through the same thing with my ram air hood. i ordered inserts from j-jent for the scoop openings so it would match my upper and lower grille's, and they were made to go overtop of the stock hood scoop grilles, adn the inserts stuck out and looked tacky. I took out the stock hood scoop grilles and made my own brackets and remounted the billet inserts and they were flush mounted and looked waaaay cooler.
there is hope for ya though. its a little work, but well worth it IMO. a member on the other site got the jjent grille insert for the 02 HD, and removed his stock lower grille. he got some 1" flat steel strips and bent his own brackets and drilled a few holes in it so it would bolt right up. It looks awsome and looks stock. If you are up to the little bit of custom work, i'll try to get the pics of the brakets he made for ya.

Harley 356, thanks for the info, I was afraid that they were all like that. Any pictures of the brackets will help. I think I will go ahead and try to mount it flush as well. Thanks again.

PS How do you like your hood overall. Are you able to hook up the vents to the air cleaner?

I LOVE the hood! Looks awsome, fits awsome, quality is awsome, and the price is decent. Cervini's has a very good rep for making top quality fiberglass hoods. They don't have a functional kit out for it yet, but even if they did, i doubt i would get it. The reason is that you would have to use the stock airbox and cut a hole in it, which means i'd have to take off my nice chrome tubed AF1 for that ugly stock round box. My truck is more on the show end than on the go end, cuz its not supercharged, and i don't have the money to do that, so it wouldn't really be worth my efforts. Then i'm pretty sure the catalog says that you only get about a 7-20 hp gain from speeds around 40 mph and up for any ram air effect. With a heavy truck like this, i need the more power down low, and the AF1 gives me rougly 20 hp and 30 tq right off the line, and the ram air scoops still helps out by letting cooler air into my engine compartment, and it cools alot faster too. When i park teh truck after a good distance drive, and put my hand infront of the hood opening, i can feel the hot air coming out. Plus the kit would be about 175$, and i already spend 200 on my AF1, and have good power gains with that.
they keep saying they are coming out with the ram air kit soon, but have been saying that for years now.
the only way i would get it is if it was like the proglass setup, where it routes the air to just above the filter, and i could keep my AF1, but other things still need to come first.
