MMmm. So the Stealth box requires hacking beyond repair??
I'm currrently building my own stealth box out of MDF. I spent 4 hours just measuring and designing it so I didn't have to cut anything. Came out with a one cubic foot rectangular box design (easy to build) that you will be able to attach the lid for stock look. It still will rise the console just like the JL. Cost up to now is about $25-$35 in materials. It is for a 12" sub but I think you may be able to squeeze two 8"s too. For faster assembly I trimed some minor plastic parts from the stock shell but you still can very easily go back to stock and no one will see anything wrong. I am about 90% done now. As soon as I finish and get to learn (help!) how to post pics here I will share with you.

I don't have the parts sitting in front of me, but I'm pretty sure the major part that needs cuting would need to be cut in your situation also. The actual inside of the console comes up to the top and over the sites. On the stealthbox, you cut just below the inside top. I guess there is a chance you could just close the lid without these sides, but I doubt it would look right.

I really need to get my pics up for you guys so you can see what I'm talking about. I'll get them up this weekend.

There are eight tabs in the outer shell of which 4 are for alignment and 4 are for hodling screws. In my case I trimmed a little bit the alignment ones and eliminated two of the holding screws. I could have avoided the latest by sloting the box with a router about 2" down and bolt it there. Still you can attach back to stock with just two and anyway these are hidden. The lid aligns perfectly and closes too with my design.

My seat stealthbox is not going to come in until next week

I am leaving on a road trip for Vegas next thursday, and would really like to have something filling the gap where my console was (mainly so someone can sit there).

That, and the new LCD screen I bought has a pixel stuck on RED! It is brand new and I have a warrentee, I am just pissed because I have to take it back.

Now that I have vented, I feel better.
