KPRED1970, i'd wait it out. why get screwed or go through all that hassle. its only a matter of time before 22's do come out, and if they reallly are 22's and out (although i doubt it) there will be more than just that one set. just my .02$

some info

Harley - no need to post my IM to you here, as it just took a while for the account to activate - but thanks.

I do own my own company, and have a good amount of experience in the wheel industry. I also have close friends who are also in the wheel industry.

The wheels on ebay are 22x9.5 wheels with +14 offset. I get them from one of my friends who also manufactures wheels.

About me:
In business for over 9 years.
Sell Aprx 3-4000 replicas annually
Will most likely be advertising on this site very soon.
We do have more than one set of the 22's.

About wheels:
The Harleys are low pressure cast wheels. These are triple chrome (copper/low nickel/low nickel/high nick/chrome). Typically the cost and complexity of casting from most expensive to least is:

Forged
Squeeze Cast
Counter Pressure
Low Pressure
Gravity Cast

Typically OE today (ie Superior wheel) uses Low Pressure and Gravity. Counter Pressure and Squeeze Cast typically are for more intricate designs and if can produce a less porous wheel. Most manufacturers will give you a sample of a 500x picture the metal surface after casting - I have seen a good Gravity and Low Pressure look good as a counter pressure. ie - American Eagle has great low pressure machines, but they take them out of the mold to quick!!

I may have misunderstood one of the guys post here, and he seems to think I am some sort of fraud. I am sorry he/she feels this way.

As for mold cost -- I can say that I do have manufacturers that produce for the OE market come to me often with quotes as the wheel business is very competitive. The 22K mold cost stated previously in this thread is a little high, even here in the US for counter pressure. Prime does alot of OE also, and they are not even that high. Overseas (where the competition is really cutthroat) the molds are just under half the US. The quality is just as good typically because no one over there wants to lose business. The defects we see come into the country we have not had a problem returning - most of these have been CNC backside problems.

I hope this answers any questions or concerns with my auction.

hey jeff, sorry if we have come off so harsh sounding , its just cuz we've seen other replica HD rims listed on ebay as 22's when they end up being 20's. i guess its just something that sounds too good to be true, cuz i know alot of us would love to get a set of 22" HD replicas, and just need to see the pics of them mounted and installed first. Hopefully eventually i'll be able to afford 22" reps, cuz they would look awsome

If this is really true, and we get some of those rolling chrome 22"s dubs, then I could just imagine that the 24"s would be bling blinging soon
