A cool idea

I was kicking around the idea of doing an indash LCD screen with VGA input and mounting a small PC somewhere in the vehicle. A few guys have done with with their Lightnings I know. Then I was thinking, what about doing one of these new Tablet PC's. The more I look at it, the more I want to do it. I wouldn't perm mount it, I would do some sort of docking station (talk about a detachable face plate!). They are a little pricey right now and I'm not sure I want version 1.0, but it something I'm going to watch very closely.

I was thinking of converting the front console so that it could be lifted the opposite way as well as normal (another hinge at the front). That way a fairly large flat screen could be mounted inside. This would only need to have the standard 3-plug audio video connections. Then I could mount my Xbox to allow the passengers in back to play games and watch DVDs.

Just another "cool" idea

Harley#356 - I couldn't find Dogleg's gallery besides his fuel door pics. Do you have a link? Thanks.

"KITT, got to Home Depot and pick up some MDF"

I love the looks of his dash. The Tablet PC is basically Windows XP with a touch screen and software to make it pen/touch friendly. I think it could work nicely in this situation.
