hd owner group in houston?

Halo (houston area lightning onwers) has about 65 members that regularly get tother at the track, for burgers and beer, etc. I have met some of the guys and they are quite cool. Because of the number of people registered there, they sometimes get special pricing on group buys and such.

How many people are here from houston that might be interested in joining the group?

Would a forum see much activity?

Later...

Ken

Ken,

You are correct, they are a great bunch of guys. I previously had a lightning, and was a member.

A while back I had spoken to these guys about becoming a member with the HD, but they said membership was not an option unless you where a lightning owner. They said to come and hang with them any time.

We should start up our own Houston area HD owners Association. What you think? We could compete with them at the ICCB.

HALO Member?

hmmm...

I too was a HALO member... I'm a little further out than most, but still participate in th eICCB's and such...

I talked w/ Andre a few weeks back, and he didn't have a problem with me remaining a member...

I DID notice tho... that there IS a requirement for NEXT year to have an L VIN....

I dunno tho, that requirement became official before anyone with an 02 HD wanted to join.... I dunno...

Maybe we could/should check with Andre about joining HALO...

A separate group MAY create coordination problems with different events...?

I dunno... I've been a member of HALO since Jan 2000... when there were only 10 or so members....

hmmmmm....

Let's hear some discussion... What do you guys think?

If andre won't do it, I might throw up a PHP freeware BBS system for the purpose of creating a simple gathering spot for houston harley people.

The problem is getting the word out. Texan and Landmark alone sold over 60 02HDs. If you add in all the other dealers in and around houston, i gotta figure there are at least 100 or more floating around. That's just 02. Then there are the 00s and 01s as well as the upcoming 03s...

who knows...

He said he would ask the other founders of Halo, but I would suspect that they will say they would rather not. It creates an identity problem for Halo...

Ken, Your Da Man! I appreciate you taking the steps to get something going. If this rain will ever let up, I'm going cruisin.

Has any one been to the cruise scene in the Woodlands? I've seen pics, and it looks like they have a good size crowd up there...

Ken,

That is great. I am already registered on there website. They usually have some good deals in the for sale section.

Is this going to be a new chapter added to the HALO group?

Anyway, good work. We need to meet up.

right now it is just a forum, but we need to come up with some ideas on how to get membership up so we can do cruises and such. I would love to do a burger and fries on sunday at lunchtime and then do a 20+ caravan of HDs out to HRP for a little sunday instant green...

COOL!!!

Yeah... I figured Wyldman and 99SVT would be for it...

They both liked looking at my '02 HD...

Wyldman, Jerrod and Andre were all pretty eager about giving out advise about getting it to a perfomance level comparable to a mild-modded Lightning...

Thanx for putting in the effort ken800!!!

Look forward to seeing you at the CCB...!!??

Thanks Ken,

We need to meet this weekend for a cruz. How about the Firestone on Hwy 6. Every Saturday there is a car show starting about 5:00.

I also saw our area on the HALO forum. Nice job!!
