Exclamation Some proof of the OFFICIAL count of 00 HD's made

Here's a copy of the email that i got from ford of canada. I did save it. I'll be emailing them again just to see if they can give me the same information. Hope this helps clear some stuff up...

Dear Mr. Verdieck,

Thank you for your message of 05/30/02 regarding the 2000 and 2001 Ford
F-150 Harley Davidson Limited Edition Truck. We appreciate the time
you
have taken to request literature and production figures for this
vehicle.

First and foremost, we apologise for the delay in our response to you.
Our goal is to respond to our customers within three business days;
however, due to recent high volumes of e-mail we were unable to fulfill
that objective. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

In an effort to assist you, we have checked our available resources and
have confirmed that the final production figure for the 2000 model was
8197. We regret to inform you that we cannot provide a production
figure for the 2001 F-150 Harley Davidson, as it is included in the
production figures for the F-Series. Our records indicate that 568,011
units were produced in 2001.

Mr. Verdieck, please note that we only keep current Sales Brochures at
this office. For further assistance with this matter, we recommend
contacting the National Automotive History Collection (NAHC),
maintained
by the Detroit Public Library. They are able to provide dated Sales
Brochures for Ford vehicles and products and as such, may be able to
assist with your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not have keep posters at this office. If you have
not done so already, we recommend that you contact your local Ford
dealership to inquire whether they have any F-150 Harley Davidson
posters available.

We encourage you to view our Ford Online Store for products and
accessories that are currently available from Ford Motor Company. A
dies cast model of your vehicle is available. The staff at our Online
Store is also in the best position to address inquiries regarding Ford
Motor Company merchandise and accessories. Please contact our Ford
Online Store directly at:

www.onlinestore.ford.com

or

1-800-444-4503

Your loyalty and business are valued. We wish you many years of safe
and enjoyable motoring.

Please let us know if the information we provided has met your
expectations. If it has not, please feel free to write us back and
advise how we may be of further assistance to you.

At Ford of Canada, we consider the satisfaction of our customers as one
of our most important objectives. If you have any other inquiries or
concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to
address
them.

Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada.

Sincerely,
Dar

Ok guys heres the first one that I sent to Ford, and their bull reply followed by my second one spot the difference when they saw what I have learned from all you guys on this site

Dear Mr. Hemblade,

Thank you for your message of 09/25/02 regarding your 2000 Ford F-150.
We appreciate the time you have taken to write us concerning the
production number for this terrific vehicle.

Mr. Hemblade, we are unable to provide you with the production number
for your vehicle. Once an order for a vehicle is received from a
dealership, the vehicle is assigned a Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN), scheduled for a specific assembly plant and given an estimated
production date. The vehicle order is then sent to the assembly plant.

Once vehicle orders are received at the assembly plant, it is at the
discretion of the plant in what order the vehicles will be built. The
key goal is to arrange production scheduling so that vehicles with
similar features and options are manufactured in one batch. This
results in increased manufacturing efficiency, as the number of line
re-configurations is kept to a minimum. Unfortunately, this also
results in there being no method for verifying the number of your
vehicle in the production sequence.

As the vehicle was purchased from G. Figliomeni & Sons Inc., we
recommend that you contact the Sales Manager for further assistance. He
or she would be in the best position to address this matter on your
behalf. You may reach him directly at (807) 824 - 2283.

To locate your dealership through Ford of Canada's web site,
www.ford.ca, simply select the "Locate Dealer" link from our homepage,
then, enter the dealership name. Their e-mail address is
www.figliomeniford.com.

Mr. Hemblade, our goal is to strive and provide first-rate customer
service to valued customers like you. We would like you to continue to
enjoy the many Ford products and services we have to offer.

At Ford of Canada, we consider the satisfaction of our customers as one
of our most important objectives. If you have any other inquiries or
concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address
them.

Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada.

Thank you for your prompt reply, but the vehicles in question were all
given
a build # as well as a vin # due to the fact that they were a limited
production run, as I understand the total Harley Davidson F150's built
was
around the 7000 mark and owners received a plaque with both their name,
build # and vin # engraved on it in a nice presentation box this was
after
they had taken delivery of their gleaming new Harley trucks.
.. In your reply you make no mention of the Leer tonneau cover
that should have also come with the truck. I'm sorry if this mail causes
you
or your department a problem, but please try to see it from my point of
view
I have a vehicle that has cost me $47,000 U.S. and I would really like
to
get all of the missing items and information, I have already sent mail
off
to the dealer that sold the truck and await their reply. Do you have any
e-mail addresses of people involved with the H.D. program in Canada such
as
for a guy named Gokhan his phone # is 1800 387 4966 I have tried to
speak to
him but with the time difference and my working shift (time now in
England
is 23.00 ) I keep missing him so e-mail is the obvious solution, once
again
thank you for your help in this matter Dean Hemblade.

nobody. If you didn't get your plaque when you bought the truck, there's no way to find out. I haven't heard of anybody who found out, or who to call or whatever. They didn't keep records of what vin was what build# with the HD's like they do the L's. Or at least nobody knows where to find the records. And there is no way to tell from your vin either cuz thats the total # of f150's built from that factory, not just the HD's. Also, the company that made the 00 HD's plaques went out of business, so no luck there either.
You can try, but i don't think you'll find out too much.

good luck though

Dear Mr. Verdieck,

Thank you for your patience as we have researched your recent inquiry.
This is a follow-up message, as we have further information in regards
to this matter that we wish to apprise you of.

Our Brand Manager of the Ford F-150 Harley Davidson advised us that
there were 843 units of the 2000 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson built from
the assembly plant in Ontario.

Mr. Verdieck, we are always pleased to provide resolutions to our
customers inquiries. We hope this information proves to be
