I would not recommend it.

I have mixed octanes once or twice but I had a half tank or more of high octane (91) and I filled up with mid-octane gas (89).

Didn't see any real problems but I sure wouldn't do it on a regular basis.

yes, only run what it calls for. It says right on the instrument cluster "premium fuel only!"

Hey all,

I bet it would run fine as long as your not at the drag strip.

There was a thread awhile back in the Lighting forum that was about the factory program and how it was set to 87 octane on the Lightning.

This was switchable by the dealer, and set that way from the factory to limit any problems with a bad tank of gas.

As long as you don't mash the pedal and limit the S/c boost you'd be fine.

Regards
Frank

I still wouldn't trust it. They always say you should run the recommended gas for your engine. And with the added stress and everything of a s/c engine, and when it says in big letters right in your gauge cluster PREMIUM FUEL ONLY!, i'd definately say use premium. rather be safe than sorry
