Why Is There No Five Speed Available
Anti-honda,
It depends on what you are comparing it to. Our '01 SCrew 4x4 was a much smoother ride, but the HD handles better - not significantly. We have one of those 270-degree off-ramps. In the '01 SCrew, I manage 40MPH before the tail broke loose. I hit it at ~43MPH in the '02 HD when it broke loose. There could have been loose dirt or gravel (more or less), but it looked the same as usual to me. I take the same curve at 55 in the Bimmer (with traction off; 50 with traction on).
I'd say get the heated seats! Your back will need it after a rough stretch of road. The only truck I have been in with a "good" ride is my friends Tundra. Had OK power, but could use that SC that all of them have been waiting for. It'd be a lot cheaper to get a regular SCrew and supercharge it - for what you are 1/2 looking for. Still auto, but eh. I rarely drive the HD and stick to the 530 (5-speed). The HD is my wife's. Don't get tickets in the BMW either! My 5th drive in the HD - got a ticket. Always (at least 7 times), I get the pull beside and look over from CHP and either give me the "slow down a bit" look, or they just keep going to get a car in front of me. I call it the "Teflon Don from the Autobahn."
The grey under a halogen streetlamp does look baby blue. The catering is in the form of Ford catering to the majority of their buyers. Just as the Mustang caters to the cost-over-performance ratio for its target market group. More people wanted decent power for a cheaper price than gobs of power over higher price and higer insurance rates. The F-bodies were the opposite. Though now gone, they will not be forgotten. Ford is about volume and not what the minority customer wants.
I think people took your sarcasm about your hatred for automatics the wrong way. I hate them, too, but what can you do. I'd pay extra if they'd offer a short-throw manual option (though probably impossible due to the distance to the tranny from the height of the seat). Even something like the SMG in the M3 would be a little better. I want to drive the Dodge SST, which should come with the Viper 6-speed and engine. Tried to get the '03 Viper the other day, but was told all '03's were sold out and had to wait for the '04. I expect the same for the SST.

Putting his dumb comments aside, I do not like his Anti-Patriotism of a Signature. If a "Ford truck is the only american pride" you have then pack up that trailer and move to a cave in Afghanistan. I am sure you can pick up a Ford Pickup out there. Its just the price you pay may be a little much. Dont SShhiitt where you sleep!

or pick up a blade to cut holes in the tires of automatics.

We don't take that around here as kidding around. People like you should go to he!! if you cut holes in tires! I bet your the kind of guy who will key a car or truck because you don't like them for some reason.
Yes its a good ride. And worth every penny of it!
from reading your last few posts, i've come to the conclusion that you are a really big a-hole. I'm not the kind of guy on here to pick someone out and call em one, but from these posts, i think you deserve it. Try sticking to the topic, and not saying you'll slash tires and are doubting that we all don't have a HD, but just come on here and pretend we do.
*edit* oh yea, i forgot to mention about your sig too, but the above post sums it up very nicely

Is the Harley a good ride? Is it worth all of the money?
If any of you actually own one.

I once had a 00 Z-28 with the 6 speed option, and launching that thing was tricky enough. Too much and the tires would roast, too little and the car would bog down. Personally for as much torque these trucks are getting I would prefer the auto anyway. Plus I have a classic Mustang with a 4 speed in it and pushing that heavy clutch is enough for me at this point. LOL... I do agree with you guys about the tire slashing post though. Being out of highschool a few years and going somewhere where there were alot of nice cars as well as alot of jealous people, it sucks to see someone key or slash tires for something stupid because someone has a nice car. One thing I cherish as well as most if not all of these guys is are cars. Its like second to a wife, girlfriend etc. ( Or first to some)
But if you touch them or mess with them in a way not fitting you best be prepared for the repercussions. Even joking steams us all... So just a hint of advice I would choose the words wisely as it seems you have already stirred a bees nest.

Congrats.
Now you get to look forward to being a senior member then perhaps Moderator and then eventually leave this place to only recieve alumni bills asking to help your old buddies at F150online upgrade to new and better stuff. Ohh they didnt tell you about how everybody who is excepted has a life long contract to help support your fellow onliners. Yeah they didnt tell me that either when I enrolled (into college.)
Another request for money. If it aint the politicians its the schools. Didnt i pay enough already.
