Aftermarket SuperCharter
Waz thinking about adding a supercharger to my 01HD. Anyone know anything about the ATI ProCharger. Ford dealership in town recommended a HotRod Store in town that does their mods. Called them and they said it would take $3605 for the ProCharger Kit, and $1200 for installation.

ATI/Procharger is pretty good but it is a completly different type then the Lightning/2002 HD type. I dont know if that is what your looking for. It is a centifigul type and the lightning/HD is a roots. The ATI (depending on which model) is capable of adding much more HP and torque and boost then the roots but it works off engine rpms. In my opinion centrifigul looks rice. Get a Kenne Bell twin screw model. Much better then both of the others. The stock ford lightning is an Eaton 112 model. very reliable, very eye pleasing unlike the ATI. Kenne Bell will cost about the same as the others. If you do go centrifigul id get a Vortech. But if you can get ATI for a good price go for it. Im trying to find a local dealer that will sell and install the charger for me. They all say they dont do the install. I dont want to be in the middle of the dealer and installer saying that it is missing something and the other saying it was there.
I'm no s/c expert at all, but just remember from past postings on this subject that the centifigul type gives more power at high speeds, and the roots type gives more power off the line and more kick at low speeds. I think this is right, correct me if i'm wrong. Just wanted to throw that in
Roostar, If your looking for an aftermarket SC, then you need to go to the SC forum on this site and look for Crash. He installs both ATI and MagnaCharger. My advice would be not to do a thing until you talk with him.
Your Right Harley. Thats what I ment when i said that it works off RPMs. Roots/Screw is much better for street/strip racing for the same reason you said. Centrifigul is what the teams use when they come here for the Daytona International Speedway 24hrs at Rolex race. If your gonna race nonstop for a long time then thats what you want. The cent. are normally used on manual shift high reving engines (Honda,Acura,Nissian,etc.). Or engines rebuilt specially for the higher RPMs. Good Call!!
